Trump’s idea of “fun”? Bombing Iran’s main oil hub
President Donald Trump says the United States may strike Iran’s main oil export hub again “just for fun.”
In an interview with NBC News, Trump said U.S. forces had already “totally demolished” much of Kharg Island, but suggested additional strikes could follow because the terms of a possible deal with Tehran “aren’t good enough yet.”
Donald Trump said on Saturday that the United States may carry out more strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island oil export hub “just for fun”, saying that while Tehran appears ready to make a deal to end the conflict, “the terms aren’t good enough yet”.
He said the US strikes had “totally demolished” most of Kharg Island, telling NBC News that “we may hit it a few more times just for fun.”
FFS: Kharg Island isn’t just any target. It handles the overwhelming majority of Iran’s crude exports, making it a critical node in the global energy supply.
Destroying it further won’t just escalate a war; it would risk massive oil price shocks, economic disruption across global markets, and severe environmental damage in the Persian Gulf.
And the president of the United States is talking about doing it “just for fun.”
