Trump spends Easter Egg Roll ranting to children about Biden’s autopen
The White House Easter Egg Roll took a detour into grievance hour Monday as President Trump, seated among children coloring eggs, launched into a rambling critique of Joe Biden’s alleged use of an autopen. A topic kids under 10 had not, until that moment, been clamoring to explore.
“You know, Biden would use the autopen!” Trump told the children. “He was incapable of signing his name, so they’d follow him around with this big machine – you know what it was called? An autopen! And he’d have the autopen sign for him. He’d take the paper, hand it to his guys, they’d sign it with an autopen! Not too good, right?”
Trump then transitioned into attacking the media, asking the group of children their opinion on the press.
“Who likes the fake news? Does anybody like the fake news?” Trump asked.
“No!” exclaimed one child.
Some kids left with signed drawings they were told could fetch $25,000 on eBay; others left with an early lesson in how even the Easter Bunny can’t compete with a presidential fixation on grudges and the specter of Joe Biden.
