Thanks. I found this to be an interesting quote, though I may be biased and generally figure concepts like just war are often elaborate pretensions to justify somebody's actions. This was speaking about WWI
"Both German and British theologians based themselves on the just war theory, each group seeking to prove that it applied to the war waged by its own side"
Mike Johnson is lecturing the Pope on St. Augustine.
Pope Leo is a member of the Augustinian Order.
He was previously Prior Principal of the Order of St. Augustine.
He was then Prior General of the Augustinian Order.
His doctoral thesis is on the legal role of the Augustinan priors.
I can't be certain, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility that the head of all the Augustinians in the world *might* just have thought about St. Augustine's teachings.
It's clear what Mikey meant by "just war". He meant this regime will just wage war at all times, for all reasons and against anything.
We all have seen it. War on government employees and functions. War on the Constitution and civil liberties. War on the environment. War on dissent. War on prudent budgets. War on fair taxation. War on nurses and poets. War on protesters. War on supporters and more.
Even if there were a "just war" doctrine, it's not clear that attacking another country without giving a reason you can stick to would qualify.
And how does he manage to call this military “adventure” a “just war?”

for everyones information not agreeing with Maga Mike

I want to see Leo issue a Papal Bull that just says "That's bull."
The "Just War" is a medieval concept. Back when Popes had their own armies. We don't do that any more. Too bad some Catholics haven't gotten the memo.
Christ, what an asshole. Never more appropriate a response.
Every war is a "just war" to some one. I guess it just depends on which side God picks.
This is PEAK disregard of expertise....which they've been sowing in conservative brains for YEARS now. That's how we get antivaxxers.
# Mike Johnson took a moment to explain Christianity to the Pope.
.
We all know that The Criminal is Maga Mike's own personal Jesus, and that MM is, himself, a Christofascist.
He's no 'christian', nor is anyone *else* still in thrall to The Criminal.
.
I hope the Pope starts excommunicating lots of The Criminal's toadies soon.
He also just dished on Putin and Netanyahu, too, so we shall see how *that* turns out.

I think his source material is The King James Bible but why doesn't he quote any scripture from it? Maybe its in The Qur'an?

No governance; just war.
