YouTuber cracks Coke’s secret formula using chemistry set
The secret formula for Coca-Cola is supposedly one of the best-kept secrets in the industry, although we do know that it allegedly does not contain cocaine anymore. Try to get your hands on it, and you could very well have a corporate death squad kicking down your door (maybe).
One YouTuber, though, has allegedly successfully recreated it at home, armed with only spite and a chemistry education. The reconstruction process is fascinating and seems to verify that, indeed, Coca-Cola does not contain cocaine. Bummer. (Also, there’s a mass spectrometer involved, which feels like overkill for a soft drink.)
