Vance compares Trump’s economy to the Titanic
Apparently, Vance is unaware that the Titanic did not, in fact, turn around.
“You don’t turn the Titanic around overnight,” said a Vice President who apparently has a poor knowledge of history.
Finally, a metaphor for the Trump economy that fits. JD Vance unintentionally said something true when asked about the administration’s tariff-based economic performance. Apparently, Vance is unaware that the Titanic did not, in fact, turn around.
At least when the Titanic sank, the band knew when to stop playing.
You know, I’m starting to think that the vice president is kind of a dumbass.
I thought the legend was that the band on the Titanic kept playing while the ship was sinking, until they ultimately drowned. Less praiseworthy to keep playing while others are drowning and you expect to be fine.
Also, wonderful example of a freudian slip.
