Two men rode the elevator to the top of the Space Needle and jumped off
They wore parachutes. Seattle police would still like a word.
Two men rode to the Space Needle’s observation deck, changed into BASE-jumping gear in the restroom, climbed over the glass barrier, and backflipped from the 520-foot platform. Their parachutes opened; Seattle police are still looking for them. Yet another great PNW parachute getaway.
Visitors waiting for the restroom were alarmed when two helmeted men burst out and shoved past them. The situation became clearer when they jumped off the building.

I find it surprising that the operators of a highly-recognizable tourist attraction don't have some policy on people bringing in large backpacks. If they didn't have one before, I bet that's about to change.

so you think in ten years time we'll be finding shreds of evidence of these 'BASE' jumpers along the banks of Elliot Bay? [wink] ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._B._Cooper )
