Trump’s participation trophy heads to the Big Apple

Trump’s giant, 10-foot-tall gold participation trophy honoring his “enthusiastic participation” in the Iran War is moving from Washington, D.C., to New York City!

The trophy is believed to be the largest ever awarded to a sitting President, and is an attempt to de-escalate the conflict through positive reinforcement. It previously appeared on the National Mall, where The White House responded that these “untalented ‘artists’ should stick to their ugly ‘art’ and refrain from weighing in on foreign policy.“

A plaque on the trophy reads:

“We hereby award President Donald J. Trump this participation trophy for his enthusiastic involvement in the Iran War. While some concern themselves with military strategy, diplomacy, or measurable outcomes, President Trump demonstrated the courage to participate regardless of the final score. As recipient of this prestigious award, President Trump joins the ranks of children everywhere who receive recognition for simply showing up. We join you in celebrating this remarkable achievement.”

When the monument debuted in Washington, the public quickly added tons of donated trophies around its base – even adding their own messages to The Administration and transforming the installation into a growing public display of participation award protest.

We are bringing this to New York with the hope and intention that New Yorkers continue to help the collection grow and have their voice heard by adding their own trophies, ribbons and awards to the base of the monument throughout the week.

The Trophy is located at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan just one block away from where President Trump was tried in court. Foley Square is also known as Thomas Paine Park. Paine famously argued for human rights in the Revolutionary era.

The statue will be up for several days. It will be available for the public and drop off their own participation awards during the day. It will be taken down each evening and placed back up in the AM.
