Here on the left coast, people are putting stickers on the pumps with the orange man pointing at the price; the caption reads “I did that!”. I paid $7.15/gal in Bridgeport, CA on July 1. Cheapest gas in town.
I love that idea and did a quick search to see some images, which are great. But what really got me was that the first link in the results was for an Amazon site selling the stickers.
The original USA Today article is missing the minor (and ever so slightly critical) detail of how these stations are able to undercut the prices of the competition. Are they sourcing cheaper petrol, are they making essentially no profit, or is the Administration paying the difference?
It's Trump adjacent, there must be a scam somewhere.
Are the rest of us paying for this, or is it some kind of bribe deal?
Oh, we are paying.
Riiiight. . . national health care "isn't free, someone's paying for it" but government subsidized gasoline is cheaper because of. . . magic, maybe?
So a few places in one city are marginally cheaper than other local places and suddenly the economy is hunky-dory?
“Forget the thousands of places where the gas is more expensive! I made the gas cheap at 6 stations!”
