Grandpa Pudding Brains invited a 10-year-old Nathaniel Rai and the lifeguard who saved him to the White House. He then told Nathaniel he would not have saved him, "probably."
The look on the kid's face says it all. It also lets the screaming millions who voted for Trump know he is the kinda guy who wouldn't save a drowning kid, even if he was the lifeguard on duty.
The last few years have given our children the perfect "Christ! What an assh*le!" face.
It is interesting that after surviving the ocean, Rai then had to survive the Presidential meet-and-greet.

I keep waiting for that scene in Steven King's "The Dead Zone" to play out: sniper appears in the balcony to take shots at politician, so politician picks up child to use as human shield.
FWIW, untrained people trying to rescue someone from the water results in a significant number of additional drownings.
