Tradd Moore’s first creator-owned comic is coming from Oni Press
Tradd Moore is one of those cartoonists whose pages, filled with riotous color and ridiculously-cool eyeball kicks, can genuinely drop your jaw. In Silver Surfer: Black it’s cosmic psychedelia. In Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise it’s fever-dream magic. Either way, his pages don’t reel out a story so much as sequentially detonate one.
So, I’m curious to see what’s in store for Touch Me Someplace Nowhere, Moore’s first wholly creator-owned solo project as both writer and artist, which Oni Press has just announced for release in 2027.
According to Oni, the series follows “a cascading cast of outsiders through their turbulent, violent, and libidinous misadventures in an alternate New York City,” where street gangs battle for territory and literal wild animals roam the streets. At the center of it all is Kelly Muir, the estranged child of a powerful crime family, embarking on what sounds like a spectacularly bad (and spectacularly entertaining) night out in gangland Brooklyn.
Moore describes the book as a comic that “stretches a gonzo tightrope between camp genres I love over unresolved feelings that pang,” adding that it’s “romantic, perilous, and aching.”
Moore first arrived on the scene with The Strange Talent of Luther Strode, before going on to create some of the most visually distinctive supes of the past decade. It’s exciting to see where his first creator-owned solo work will take him. And us.
Oni Press is keeping most details under wraps for now, with more information promised next year. Moore will also be appearing at San Diego Comic-Con later this month for his first career retrospective panel and some signing appearances.
Boing Boing was lucky enough to get our grubby mutant end effectors on a teaser image. Enjoy.

I'd encourage people to follow the link to Tradd Moore's home page. It's a phantasmagoria of psychedelic imaginings by Tradd & colourists including Heather Moore, Dave Stewart, Felipe Sobreiro, Rico Renzi, Moreno Dinisio, Matt Wilson, and Jordie Bellaire.
