“The Boys” is getting its first video game adaptation
It’s a little weird it’s taken this long, given that several video games based on The Boys‘ crop of murderous superheroes already exist within the show’s universe.
Homelander might be kicking ass in Mortal Kombat, but the newly announced The Boys: Trigger Warning (sigh) is the first full-on The Boys video game. It came hot on the heels of the show’s final season being revealed, and, indeed, seems to tie into it, casting you as a freedom fighter who’s probably not making it to Season 5. It’s also VR-only, which might explain why everyone looks like a slightly dodgy wax figure.
Still, maybe I shouldn’t judge too soon. Batman: Arkham Shadow was also a VR-only action game based on an established property, and that one was genuinely excellent. I can’t quite get over that truly awful title, though…
