The Big Duck: Long Island’s iconic duck-shaped roadside landmark

The Big Duck is a landmark example of American roadside novelty architecture. It’s a small ferrocement building shaped like a sitting white duck, complete with orange beak and front-door entrance under its head. Built in 1931, the structure sits in Flanders on eastern Long Island.
