A viral “egg scandal” making the rounds online isn’t exposing hidden deception so much as colliding head-on with an uncomfortable reality: even premium, pasture-raised eggs are still largely products of a corn and soy-dominated food system.
Well, the label means nothing because there's no guidance on anything beyond the word "organic". However, there is also a large difference in chickens/eggs that eat 30% of their calories from non-factory organic sources (and much higher during certain parts of the year) and chickens that never have seen daylight and live entirely on factory feed.
Just find a local producer who mostly lets them move around w/ their chicken tractors and supplements w/ feed as needed and stop paying $10/dozen for a label vs. $4/dozen for someone you find locally.
One large producer near me sells 4 differently labeled types of egg. Each label highlights a feature- vegetarian food, cage free, organic and one I can’t remember right now. If you read the whole label you see the eggs are produced identically, just tagged to appeal to different groups of buyers.

Unlike some other cities in the US it is legal to own chickens in Boston MA but roosters are verboten.
I'm from Boston. I just buy the cheapest eggs in the market when I buy eggs that is.
