Sagrada Família, 144 years in the making
Nearly a century and a half of innovation and construction is coming to a close. MegaBuilds shares this fantastic video about the long, long road to completing Barcelona’s incredible basilica.
Begun in 1882, the Sagrada Família has survived civil war, funding crises, and decades of painstaking stonework. The MegaBuilds episode walks through its radical design, from hand-drawn plans destroyed by rebels to the 3D modeling used to recreate them.
With the final towers rising and interior details nearing completion, the end of one of history’s longest-running construction projects is finally in sight. After 144 years, Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece is almost ready to be finished.

It truly is a remarkable work of art. The color and light inside alone is worth the visit. If you can make it, I highly recommend you make the trip. I'd love to go back once it's complete.
