PlayStation to give its next game reveal a nationwide theater screening
Nothing says “confidence” quite like letting people get tickets to go see the announcement of a lineup of upcoming games in a proper movie theater. Granted, it could also say “let’s blast ads to our core audience on as big a screen as humanly possible.”
Either way, the next State of Play — PlayStation‘s streaming events where new games are revealed and upcoming games get updates — is on the horizon. According to PlayStation themselves, this one weighs in at more than an hour long and will open with a fresh look at Insomniac’s Wolverine game before moving on to a whole lot of announcements and reveals. I’d expect most of these to be absolutely massive, especially since PlayStation is apparently going to be showing this in theatres. If you live in a big city, there’s a high chance you’ll be able to go see it at your local Alamo Drafthouse:
We’re excited to be partnering with our friends at Alamo Drafthouse in the United States to host special live watch party viewings of the State of Play stream on June 2! Tickets will be free, but limited, so head over to this Alamo Drafthouse website to learn how to grab a ticket for one of the locations below. You’ll be able to claim yours starting today at 6:00am PT.
Raleigh
Los Angeles
San Francisco Bay Area
Chicago
Dallas/Fort Worth
New York City
I, personally, will be watching it from the comfort of my couch when June 2 rolls around, but you do you. With all the trouble they’re going to to promote this, I’d expect some huge surprises regardless of where or how you tune in. The Last of Us 3 is probably out, but this could finally be Bloodborne‘s hour! Maybe. Hopefully. Please?
