Pentagon gives Musk’s ‘MechaHitler’ access to classified systems
If you wanted Terminators, this is how you get bigoted, misogynistic, anti-semitic Terminators.
As further proof we live in the worst reality, Elon Musk’s controversy-plagued chatbot, which calls itself “MechaHitler” and produces sexualized images of children, has been granted access to classified Department of Defense systems.
Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI has signed an agreement to allow the military to use its model, Grok, in classified systems, a Defense official confirmed to Axios.
Why it matters: Up to now, Anthropic’s Claude has been the only model available in the systems on which the military’s most sensitive intelligence work, weapons development and battlefield operations take place. But the Pentagon is threatening Anthropic in a dispute over safeguards and may soon need a replacement.
Anthropic is too squeamish for “Secretary of War” Pete Hegseth’s liking and balks at having its LLM Claude used for mass surveillance tools and automated deadly weapons. Lucky for Whiskey Pete, Elon Musk has no such scruples. Having just taken a large investment from the Saudi Kingdom-based investment vehicle “Humain,” this new access for Grok is even more troublesome.
