Gregory Bovino, the trench-coated immigration goon whose public image already looks like authoritarian cosplay with a federal expense account, apparently thinks America needs more of him.
Daily Kos reports that Bovino, formerly Trump’s Border Patrol commander-at-large and the face of “Operation Metro Surge” in Minnesota, has launched an exploratory committee for 2028. His site reportedly leans hard into “The Commander” branding, “men fight back” rhetoric, and a “great restoration” pitch that sounds less like a campaign and more like a fascist mood board with a donation button.
According to NewsNation, Bovino has launched an exploratory committee ahead of the 2028 presidential election.
“NewsNation is reporting I’m exploring a run for President in 2028. Here’s the truth: My one and only priority is deporting the 106 million illegals who are here. That’s it,” Bovino wrote on X. “My commitment is simple, liberate America from this invasion and restore our quality of life. If running for President is what it takes to actually get it done, then all options are on the table.”
The website for the committee features photos of Bovino in his long black coat, which German media has called a “Nazi look.” The site features the slogan “men fight back” and refers to Bovino, who retired in March, as “The Commander.”
Innocent citizens, and immigrants seeking “the American Dream,” were slain during Bovino’s short-lived term as “commander-at-large.” This strange extension of SS cosplay is not a weird break from the modern GOP, but rather the next dumb and ugly step in the same direction.
That coat sure is a loud warning label.
