I feel like it is possible to sell safe raw milk, keeping close watch over sanitary conditions for the animals and equipment while also having a good testing regime. But that's going to mean government regulations, so there isn't much of a constituency.

This reminds me of the stories about natural vs artificial ice where "natural" was supposed to be "better" til people died of cholera.

The only way to keep Raw Milk safe is to heat it changing it into Whole Milk. Pasteurization was a gift from God.

Well, a gift from Luis Pasteur anyway, praise be onto him.

Don't get me wrong, if you are drinking milk you should drink Pasteurized milk. The fad aspect of raw milk involves a lot of woo. There are are, however, certain aged cheeses which should be made from raw milk. And it is possible to do that safely, but the woo-ists seem to be constitutionally incapable of taking the appropriate precautions.
