Man, those Romans sure lost a lot of cargo boats
The latest untouched wreck full of amphorae was found off the coast of Sicily, nearly 20 centuries after it sank.
Yet another untouched Roman wreck has been discovered off the coast of someplace in the Mediterranean.
This time, off the coast of Sicily. Naturally, Italian Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli declared the sunken boat "one of the most significant underwater archaeological discoveries of recent years." That's gotta be pretty significant cause it seems like we find another boat laden with amphorae and some other treasures pretty often.
"It's hard to explain what it feels like to think that we're among the first humans, after nearly 20 centuries, to see that place again," Giacomo de Mola, a member of the team that found the ship, said in a video post on Facebook.
Seems they could start a support group, and a few hundred folks could get together and discuss it at this point.
The Romans must have moved an immense amount of shipping for us to keep finding all this cool stuff, thousands of years later.
