Interview with racially profiled US citizen attacked and abused by ICE
“Imagine just sleeping, and you see eight armed men in masks…these men look like straight criminals.”
Meet Emmanuel Arguello Castillo, an 18-year-old US citizen from North Carolina. Manny is a concrete road construction worker whose employer’s truck broke down on his way to a site. Having fallen asleep in the truck waiting for assistance, he awoke to eight masked AR-15-bearing ICE agents demanding proof of citizenship. Manny provided it and insisted he was a North Carolinian to no avail. He was never read his rights or offered a chance to call a lawyer. Instead, he was subject to an hour of terror and handcuffed brutally enough to require him to see a doctor for injuries.
Naturally, ICE provided no information for Manny to follow up or pursue justice against these masked shock police.
ICE Agents take their mask cues from criminals. If you can't see their faces you can't identify them in a police lineup when they're detained for their crimes.
What do these ICE Agents think is going to happen to them when the Trump administration is gone? Don't they realize that the next administration will have full access to their employment files? I doubt they were allowed to wear masks for those photos.
Terrorists don’t have to identify themselves.
