My wife and I had our papermaking trailer detach from our vehicle while going downhill a few years ago; we were going slow enough that we were able to stop without anything flying into the opposite lane. As we were assessing how to reattach (~1000 pound two-wheel trailer, front fork on the ground) a group of white men 20-30 were walking by and helped us. As a group they lifted the trailer and got it back on our hitch. We thanked them as they left and one said as they departed "You're welcome, thank your local Proud Boys!". So.... sometimes the worst elements of our society can engage in altruistic acts, but it's definitely predicated on their assessment of you first (we're both white Caucasians 40-50), with normal human acts coming in second, if at all.

Similar to cops playing basketball or handing out toys after an officer-involved shooting. It gives them a feel good headline that they hope will cover up their sins. It never does, but they still try everything but just not being assholes.
