ICE agents cosplaying as utility workers is not law enforcement
This sort of trickery to enable the abduction of innocents is beyond the pale.
ICE agents are dressing up as utility workers in Multnomah County, Oregon, in order to trick people out of their homes. Local lawmakers are urging residents to be aware and use caution.
Additionally, Oregon public utilities are issuing warnings and informing locals how to check their workers’ bona fides. The problem is not limited to one state representative or a single imagination.
In a statement shared with KOIN 6 News on Friday, Rep. Ruiz’s office explained, “Our office has received reports from community members in the Gresham area about individuals posing as utility workers, which raised serious concerns for the safety and well-being of local families. Two families contacted our office directly, and an additional report was shared with us through a trusted community partner.”
“Out of an abundance of caution, Rep. Ruiz shared this information publicly to ensure people are aware, take appropriate precautions, and verify the identity of anyone claiming to be utility or government workers before allowing them access to their homes,” Ruiz’s office said, noting they are encouraging community members to report suspicious activity to local authorities.
Following Ruiz’s warning, Multnomah County raised similar concerns in a Facebook post on Thursday, stating, “Northwest Natural, PGE and other utility companies have issued alerts after reports of individuals impersonating workers in order to gain access to residents.”
Naturally, DHS officials vehemently deny that their agents would do anything against the law and claim that such alerts are causing threats of violence against them. Perhaps the rampant lawlessness and trampling of constitutional rights are behind the disdain for ICE agents, but that sort of reflection is too much to ask of the Trump administration.

They are also using data from Medicaid and your ring camera to see if you are the right color to be harassed or arrested.
If a non ICE person pretended to be a utility employee to gain access to your home I would expect real law enforcement to come arrest that person.
