Hegseth’s “Department of War” wants to court-martial a senator for quoting the Constitution
Banana Republic cosplayer, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s rebranded “Department of War” is threatening to drag Senator Mark Kelly out of retirement and court-martial him for the unspeakable crime of quoting the Constitution. The former astronaut and Navy captain had the gall to suggest that American troops should maybe not follow illegal orders. Cue the panic! Sound the fascism klaxon! These fools put into office on the basis of their love of the Constitution seem to hate obeying it.
“The Department of War has received serious allegations of misconduct against Captain Mark Kelly, USN (Ret.). In accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 688, and other applicable regulations, a thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures,” the Department of Defense said in a statement on Monday.
“All servicemembers are reminded that they have a legal obligation under the UCMJ to obey lawful orders and that orders are presumed to be lawful,” the statement added. “A servicemember’s personal philosophy does not justify or excuse the disobedience of an otherwise lawful order.”
President Donald Trump has suggested that the Democrats who reminded troops of their duty to refuse illegal orders could be hanged for treason.
This statement reads like it was drafted in crayon on a bunker wall, the so-called Department of War solemnly reminded everyone that “orders are presumed lawful” and that “personal philosophy” isn’t a get-out-of-gulag-free card. And by personal philosophy, they apparently mean “the Constitution.” Naturally, President Trump suggested that anyone encouraging troops to uphold the law should be hanged. Just another calm Monday in the Republic of Feelings.

Senator should double down here.
"Come, try me."
