Spain won the World Cup, but Grandpa Pudding Brains saw a gold trophy, cameras, and a stage, so naturally he seemed to assume the ceremony had taken a wrong turn away from him.
Reuters reports that Trump and Infantino were booed as they entered the field for the trophy ceremony. The Guardian says Trump then attempted to remain near Spain’s players as they celebrated before Infantino ushered him away.
You can see the confusion happen in real time. Spain is celebrating. The players are ready to lift the trophy. Infantino knows the choreography. Trump knows only that shiny objects and applause are supposed to migrate toward him. It is not sports. It is a nature documentary about a man imprinting on gold.
At least Grandpa got the booing on the world stage he has earned.
The trophy was not for him, which remains one of soccer’s harder rules.

The fact that the officially released photos have the twatwaffle edited out is pure gold in itself.
