Goodreads readers select “The Hunger Games” as best book ever
The vote indicates that stories of rebellion and survival are resonating strongly with folks.
Surprisingly, to me at least, the readers of Goodreads have elected “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins as the best book ever written. The vote indicates that stories of rebellion and survival are resonating strongly with folks.
The Hunger Games was published on September 14, 2008, by Scholastic in hardcover. Collins’ dystopian YA novel didn’t just launch a book series; its release marked the beginning of a worldwide phenomenon that endures to this day.
After the book’s release in 2008, it quickly became a breakout hit. The Hunger Games entered the New York Times bestseller list in November 2008, remaining there for over 100 consecutive weeks. It also appeared on USA Today’s bestseller list for more than 135 weeks and has sold millions of copies worldwide.
Now, The Hunger Games can add the title of “best book ever,” according to Goodreads readers, to its long list of accolades.
Having read The Hunger Games years ago, to see what all the hubbub was about, I remember an entertaining YA story.
