Gold medalist forced to clarify he didn’t record White House’s AI tantrum
Winning a gold medal is hard enough. Cleaning up after a government social media stunt shouldn’t be part of the victory lap.
There is no way the captain of the US Olympic Hockey Team could have anticipated he’d be publicly denying crude insults put in his mouth by a deep-faking White House. This is not part of the training that goes into winning Olympic gold, or it wasn’t until now.
An AI-doctored video posted by the White House’s official TikTok account made it appear the Ottawa Senators captain hurled a crude insult at Canadians. Tkachuk never insulted the fans he plays for all season. Tkachuk was forced by the White House to clarify the obvious: it wasn’t his voice, not his words, and not something he would ever say. The denial comes around 10 minutes into this video:

a reference to "didn't think the leopard would eat *my* face" is now entirely too common hence tedious..?
