Gaza’s ceasefire has somehow expanded Israel’s control to nearly 70%
Nine months into a ceasefire, Israel now controls nearly 70% of Gaza, up from 50% before the “ceasefire,” because apparently the “cease” part was more of a branding exercise.
NPR reports that when the ceasefire began in October, Israel controlled about half of Gaza along the “yellow line.” Since then, Israeli forces have pushed deeper, creating an expanding “orange zone” that now leaves Israel in control of nearly 70% of the territory, according to Israeli leaders’ comments and maps shared with aid groups.
It is strange how Israeli ceasefires keep arriving with tanks, shelling, new military zones, restricted ambulances, dead civilians, and a growing percentage of Gaza under Israeli control. At some point, the word “ceasefire” stops meaning “the fire ceased” and starts meaning “the press release found a softer noun.”
The word “ceasefire” is doing humanitarian cosplay.
Netanyahu has expansionist ambitions. It doesn't help that, much like The Criminal, he is frantically trying to stay in power in order to stay out of prison . Distractions can come in handy......
Luckily for him, The Criminal is easily manipulated; and the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, is a lunatic Baptist minister who has no qualms about ushering in Armageddon, so neither one is likely to question his actions.
It is somewhat ironic that a substantiial amount of money we send over there will return in the form of 'campaign contributions' and other types of bribes in order to sway th upcoming elections. As per usual.
