Yesterday, Disney shared their new in-park “Han Solo” who doesn’t look like Han Solo. Today, we get a not-Leia.
I am not sure what Disney is going for here. Bringing the original trilogy into their Star Warsland is very smart. They represent the Star Wars that got people interested in Star Wars, while the latest, purportedly final, trilogy was mostly controversial in its not-good-ness. It makes sense that people may want to spend more time around the heroes and not the zeroes, but they could try to get people who look the part.
That nerfherder isn’t scruffy-looking enough.
i'm not sure why you're picking on them. they're trying, okay? are you thinking you'd prefer folks who really look like dopplegangers of the original? that's a really hard ask. i'm glad they're doing this and they get a pass from me for trying.
So they’re using the Disney princess template-they have a lot of cast members who can pull that off. You know that people identify characters by the costume if they’re human shaped anyway. And it would be people my age (65) who would care about getting a pic with the “real” Leia-little kids won’t really notice.
