The Kennedy Center’s argument was basically that removing Trump’s name might hurt fundraising, because apparently donors were lining up to support the arts only after seeing the words “Donald J. Trump” bolted onto John F. Kennedy’s memorial. The court asked for evidence. The evidence did not show up for rehearsal.
The Kennedy Center appealed the decision, with Justice Department lawyers arguing on behalf of the center that, among other things, the removal of Trump’s name “threatens to impede the Center’s fundraising efforts and contribute to the financial decline of the Center.”
The three-judge appellate court panel on July 8 denied the motion for a stay pending appeal “because [appellants] have failed to show how they will be irreparably injured absent a stay.”
Regarding the claim that the Kennedy Center will suffer financial harm if it is not permitted to reinstate Trump’s name, the appeals court said in its ruling that the center had “failed to support this assertion with any specific facts or evidence. They offer only the conclusory assertions of the Kennedy Center’s Executive Director that were made in a factually unsupported declaration.”

The best part is the tarp. Workers removed Trump’s name, but the spot is still covered, like the building is recovering from a bad tattoo. Somewhere under there is the architectural equivalent of “never again, please moisturize.”
Not every surface in America is waiting to become a Trump product.

Well, they aren’t getting the direct grift variety of funds from fundraising that they prefer. The funds raised will have to go to the Center, and they will be used by the Center, for the Center. If the cash can’t go straight to the twatwaffle’s bank account, it might as well not exist.
Judge's most recent order (about a report about the situation about The Kennedy center): "The report shall also indicate the purpose for and status of the tarp and scaffolding that Defendants have erected on the front portico of the Center, to the extent they remain at that time" ("Well y'see yer-honor, the 'purpose' of a tarp as such if-you-will is to cover stuff, in't it? And its 'status' is hanging on in there, thenkewverrymuch")
