Bear spotted in tree, LAPD reacts
“Police do say they’ve seen the bear climb at least three different trees.”
“Police do say they’ve seen the bear climb at least three different trees.”
A large black bear wandered into Hansen Dam, a patch of green space that, from a bear’s perspective, looks exactly like the kind of place a bear should be. LAPD responded by closing the park and the library, which is unfair, as the bear may have needed to use a public computer to access his email.
KTLA5 reports a policeman did take a shot at the bear, because of course he did, but missed:
Details remain limited, and it’s unclear exactly when the bear was first spotted. Runner Ricardo Villarreal said he was jogging north on Osborne Street when he saw the bear climbing onto a fence.
“I thought he was going to attack me,” Villarreal said. “The police officer said, ‘Hey, man, you better run because he’s coming this way.’”
Villarreal said the officer had the bear directly in front of him and fired a weapon at the animal but missed.
Honestly, we need to learn to share.
