What possible conditions could exist for anyone to want a million robots-especially that robot-per year? (I know, robot soldiers are a possibility, but these robots are already crap, they wouldn’t improve our military at all).
There may need to be a need for a million robots for manufacturing or other repetitive kinds of operations. However, they don't need these humanoid robots. They will be operation specific robots to perform the same motions over and over again. Many will also need to lift and carry loads that would be beyond these Optimus things. Those will be more efficient and likely a lot expensive than Optimus.
As for soldiers, again, specific robots will be much more likely. Think drones. Also, a humanoid robot is just target practice on a battlefield. There are obviously much better, hardier designs that could be envisioned. Low profile, no weak links (elbows, knees), treads. C-3PO and AT-AT walkers are not going to cut it.
