Amazon’s superhero satire The Boys ends with prescient government takeover
I genuinely can’t think of an adaptation that’s elevated its source material as much as The Boys. Garth Ennis’ original comic was essentially edgy, shock-value schlock stemming from its writer’s mean-spirited dislike for the superhero genre, daring to ask such bold, subversive questions as “what if Professor X was a pedophile?”
