A phenomenal time travel story: On the Calculation of Volume (Book I)
I have become obsessed with Solvej Balle’s story of a woman trapped on a single day.
On the Calculation of Volume introduces us to Tara Selter, a woman living the classic Bill Murray Movie “Groundhog Day” but with no explanation or idea of how or why. One day, the antique illustrated book seller woke up, and it was yesterday. The story is an amazing introspective examination of loneliness, even while loved.
This is a slow but beautiful book.
